Horizon Happenings January 2025

January Horizon Happenings Newsletter 2025

Happy New Year Parents and Guardians,

We are all really looking forward to all our students returning on January 7th, 2025. Please remember FREE breakfast starts at 7:45 am each day and students should come at that time so that they can get into their classroom no later than 8:05.

At the end of the month (January 24th) is our school wide fundraiser event; CARNIVAL! Please join us for all the fabulous and fun activities. All earnings go directly to helping Horizon Elementary and your student(s) for the entire 2025-2026 school year. Live generously! PLEASE consider donating a themed basket to raffle off during carnival! Thank you in advance and we appreciate your generosity to help the students at Horizon!

Attending school each day (all day) is a Idaho state requirement and your son or daughter is only allowed to miss and/or be tardy to school 10% of the days or less. That is ONLY 17 day for the ENTIRE school year!! If multiple occurrence's are happening you will be required to come in for a parent meeting with Administration followed by a referral to attendance court.

So, when you are trying to turn over that new leaf for 2025 try to make it a goal to be at school on time and attend school everyday! It is what is good for kids.

Sincerely,

Jill Taylor

Principal

Vice Principal

Brrr! Baby it is could out there!

We go outside almost every day!!

Out playgrounds sees a lot of high winds and with the snow coming it is

very important your student(s) dresses appropriately for winter play!

Many children are VERY cold at recess

as they are not coming to school with the appropriate attire.

Please keep them warm and dry

by sending them in the appropriate clothing.

Please send them with:

Warm Jacket

Hat and Mittens/Gloves

Boots and socks

Snow pants (when the snow arrives)

It is a good idea to have extra socks, undies and pants in their backpack as well!

**Please LABEL all clothing as many things end up in the LOST and FOUND!

If clothing is labeled we can get it back to it's owner!

Packing snow is the best snow!!
